Reverend Doctor A. Jerome Danage, Sr.
The Reverend Doctor A. Jerome Danage is a native of Warren Ohio and a first-generation Pastor. He is the son of the late Elaine Danage. Dr. Danage serves as the senior pastor of the historic Providence United Church of Christ in Chesapeake, Virginia, the oldest African-American congregation in the Southern Conference of the United Churches of Christ. He is the 17th pastor in the church’s 163-year history.
Dr. Danage is a graduate of Kent State University with Associates and Bachelor’s degrees in Criminal Justice, a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry in Transformational Leadership from Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, Ohio. His motto for ministry is “Real Ministry, 4 Real people with Real issues, serving a Real God.
Dr. Danage is married to the former Semone Gates, his wife of 28 years and they reside in Chesapeake, Virginia. They are the proud parents of four adult children, Avery Jr, Ambyr, Jessica and Arielle and three grandchildren, Corrine, Tatum and Braxton.
